Coach terms

These terms apply to anyone who activates the coach role in Trailwise and uses it to follow other people’s training ("athletes"). They come on top of the terms of service, which continue to apply to you. By activating the coach role you accept them.
1. Who can be a coach
You must be an adult, you must actually coach the athletes you link to, and you must hold any qualification or insurance that the law of your country requires for the coaching you provide. Trailwise does not verify qualifications and does not make you a certified coach.
2. Your athletes decide what you see
An athlete links to you by accepting your invitation and choosing the categories of data they share. You see only those categories, only while the link is active. An athlete can change or revoke the link at any moment without telling you why, and you will lose access immediately. You may not pressure an athlete to share more than they want to.
3. Data protection: Trailwise is the controller, you are a trusted user
Trailwise is the data controller for all athlete data in the service, including what you see. You are not a separate controller for data inside Trailwise and you do not need a data-processing agreement with us for it. In return you agree to use athlete data only to coach that athlete, to keep it confidential, not to copy it out of Trailwise except as notes you need for coaching that athlete, not to share it with anyone else, and to delete anything you copied when the link ends. Data you hold about an athlete outside Trailwise (your own spreadsheets, messages, invoices) is your responsibility under your own privacy obligations.
4. Health data
Much of what you see is health data. You must treat it with the care the law requires for health data, use it only for coaching, and never for any other purpose. If an athlete tells you something that requires a medical professional, refer them to one. You may not give medical advice through Trailwise unless you are qualified to do so.
5. Alerts and Trailly’s coach digest
Trailwise sends you alerts and a digest about your athletes, produced in part by AI. They are prompts to look, not conclusions. You remain responsible for every coaching decision you take, and you should not treat an absence of alerts as confirmation that all is well.
6. Coach subscriptions
Coach plans are business subscriptions, priced excluding VAT and billed in advance through Stripe, monthly or yearly, in bands that depend on the number of athletes you follow. They renew automatically until you cancel; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Where you subscribe as a business, the consumer right of withdrawal does not apply. If your athlete count moves you into a different band, the new band applies from the next period. The price you pay does not rise while your subscription is active.
7. Your relationship with your athletes
Trailwise is a tool for your coaching, not a party to it. Your coaching agreement, fees, cancellation and liability towards your athletes are between you and them. Trailwise’s coach CRM can help you manage them, but we are not responsible for what you charge or promise. Athletes remain free to use Trailwise without you.
8. Ending the coach role
You can stop being a coach at any time from your settings; every active link ends and your access to athlete data stops. We may suspend or end your coach role, with notice where possible, if you breach these terms, if an athlete reports a serious concern, or if your use puts athletes or the service at risk.
9. Everything else
The terms of service govern everything these coach terms do not mention, including liability, changes and governing law. If the two conflict, these coach terms prevail for the coach role.
