1. Strictly necessary

These make the service work and need no consent. Without them you cannot sign in.

Session cookie (sign-in), for the duration of the session or up to thirty days if you stay signed in. CSRF token, for the session. Cookie-choice cookie, which remembers the choice you made in the banner, for twelve months. Language preference, for twelve months.

2. Analytics, only with your consent

If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are used and where people get stuck. Google sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) that last up to two years and identify your browser, not you by name. We have IP anonymisation and Google’s advertising features switched off, we do not link analytics to your account, and we do not use it for advertising. Google processes this data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set and nothing is sent to Google.

3. No advertising, no tracking across sites

Trailwise sets no advertising cookies, embeds no social media buttons that track you, and does not follow you to other websites.

4. Changing your choice

You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or by deleting cookies in your browser, after which the banner appears again. Declining analytics does not affect any feature.

5. Third-party content

The weather page loads map tiles from MapTiler and OpenWeather, and the race pages may load images from race organisers. Your browser sends its IP address to those servers to fetch the content; they set no cookies on our pages.
