Mission and vision
Hendrick, Trailwise’s founder, was training for UTMB Mont-Blanc when a shin injury cost him a year, pushing his own start line from 2027 to 2028. It is a common story among distance runners: the data that could have caught it early either is not being collected, or is not saying anything clear enough to act on in time. That gap, between what a runner logs and what it should be telling them, is what Trailwise exists to close.
Most runners training for something big get advice built for a week, not for years. A plan tells you what to do on Tuesday. It rarely tells you that three months of Tuesdays are pushing you toward injury.
Trailwise pulls your training, recovery, body data, calendar, and race prep into one place. It is built to work with whatever watch, ring, or app you already use. All of it turns into guidance for a multi-year goal: reaching the start line healthy. Switch devices and your history moves with you. Nothing you have logged is locked to one brand.
The coaching is honest before it is encouraging. When your data says rest, it says rest. Undertrained beats injured, every time. When there is not enough data yet, it says that too, instead of guessing.
The vision reaches beyond trail and ultra running, toward every runner chasing a goal measured in years rather than weeks. The coaching stays the same: plan in seasons, tell the truth on a bad Tuesday, and never mistake one rough week for a failed plan.
That same honesty is built to work for human coaches too. A coach with a real roster spends most of a week reading data, not coaching: who slept badly, who is favoring a leg, who is quietly overreaching. Trailwise is built to do that reading for them, so their time goes back to the parts of coaching only a person can do.
Most fitness apps are built to keep you opening them today. Trailwise is built to still be right in three years, when the goal is closer than the app that helped set it. That only holds if the coaching keeps earning trust: honest when the news is bad, specific about why, and never louder than the data underneath it.
Trailwise is not a medical device. Neither is it a replacement for a doctor or a physiotherapist. Trailwise flags what is worth a conversation. It does not diagnose, and it will tell you when it does not know.
Thirty days of Trailwise Pro, your history imported on day one, and a plan that answers to what your body is actually doing.
