How do I add an Apple or iCloud calendar?
Trailwise reads an Apple calendar through its public link, so it never needs your Apple password. Anyone who has that link can see every appointment in the calendar, and it stays public until you turn off Public Calendar in Apple Calendar: disconnecting in Trailwise does not turn it off. Tip: make a separate calendar in Apple Calendar for the commitments that matter for your training, and share only that one. Your family or work calendar then never has to be public.
iPhone: in Calendar, tap Calendars, tap the info button next to the calendar, turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link. Mac: in Calendar, hover over the calendar and click the share button, select Public Calendar, then copy the link. iCloud.com: in Calendar, click the share button next to the calendar, select Public Calendar, then copy the link.
Then open Apple Calendar under Settings > Your data, read and agree to how Trailwise uses the calendar, and paste the link. You can add up to 15 calendars, each with its own link. Trailwise reads the appointments from a month back to a year ahead, keeps their title and time but never their place or notes, checks the link about every 30 minutes while auto-sync is on, and never writes into it.
Your appointments show in your Agenda, and your training plan works around the busy ones; an appointment set to show as free does not block a training day. The intelligent coach only learns when you are busy and how much free time a day has, never what your appointments are. Removing a calendar, or disconnecting Apple Calendar, removes its appointments from Trailwise, and your training plans no longer take it into account. The link stays public until you turn off Public Calendar in Apple Calendar.
